Buy pastry stout

A pastry stout is an imperial stout brewed like a dessert. Brewers add vanilla, cacao, coffee, coconut, nuts, maple syrup or marshmallow, and sometimes a little lactose for a creamy body. The idea comes from the US, where breweries such as Equilibrium and Everywhere turned it into a genre of its own.

Sweet, full and often aged in bourbon barrels as well. Don't serve them too cold and share them: with these beers a small glass is usually just right. Prefer a classic stout without additions? Have a look at imperial stouts.
