Buy imperial stout

An imperial stout is a heavy, dark beer, usually between 10 and 17% ABV. The style was born in 18th-century England, where brewers made extra strong stouts for export to the Russian court. That's why you still often see the name Russian imperial stout.

American brewers took it a step further: they put the stout in empty bourbon barrels for months or years. That's where the vanilla, caramel and wood you taste in almost every bottle below come from. Want to know how that works? Read what barrel aged beer is.

Below you'll find all our imperial stouts, from the classic Bourbon County to Dutch favourites from Moersleutel. Looking for something sweet with coffee, coconut or vanilla? Have a look at pastry stouts.
